Furniture Of The Legendary Pop Star MJ To Be Auctioned On His Death Anniversary
The legendary pop star Michael Jackson passed away last year in June. This year his custom made traditional and contemporary furniture will be put forward for auction on his death anniversary. We all know how he lived and how he wanted to live. He always wanted to live like a king in his castle.
Michael Jackson bought a property in UK costing him $21 million (£14 million) which he never got to see as he passed away last summer now the property's furniture will go on Auction in Las Vegas on 25th June 2010. All the furniture such as desks, sofas and chairs which he ordered for his UK residence will all be going on auction in Las Vegas. The furniture he bought for the house was never completed as they were waiting to be shipped to UK when Michael passed away last year.
Colombostile in Milan build the furniture for Michael. The items were all hand picked and custom made chairs, sofas, desks and tables. For 22 pieces of furniture Michael paid them over £466,600 ($700,000). We all knew he spent big and this was yet another big investment by MJ for his new property in the UK. He had planned to fill the property and then rent it out but he never got to see the property with his furniture.
Michael bought a nine seat sofa from Colombostile and they are expecting the sofa to make about £100,000 from the auction. The sofa was designed and handmade by Giovanni Maria Malerba da Busca. Michael Paid £143,300 ($213,000) for this sofa. The bosses have also said the profit will be paid to the Jackson family after previously coming to an arrangement with Michael Jackson's mother Katherine.
