Here is an excerpt:
Tell us about Jeremy Thornton.
Well I was born and raised in Chicago and I have always respected the power of music. I recognized early that this very powerful tool changed peoples lives. It could make a person feel many ways. I started writing songs and practiced performing quite young. Chicago has a rich culture of music, so I studied it all. I started as a hip hop artist and just kept growing. Here I am today, still studying and loving music.
The styles of music you perform are diverse; how did this come about?
Wow! I have so many influences in music. My motto is "a good song is a good song", so I incorporate everything I see, hear, taste, touch, smell and feel. I started out with hip hop and felt I was in a box sometimes. I realized I am not only a hip hop artist I am a total artist. I started making music I enjoy and hopefully others will too.
What is the name of your latest album, could you tell us about it, and who was involved?
Sure. The latest project is "When Ugly People Made Good Music." The concept comes from a time before videos . We would listen to music and judge a song on the merit of the song and not all the visual stuff. Even though I love visual art as well, I want people to just enjoy the music. I had Great Producers. Francisco Fattoruso did four songs. He was great to work with. I would tell himthe direction I wanted to go he would take it further than I could ever anticipateYoel Ben Yehuda produced on a track with me. He was just as wonderful. I produced the remainder myself. Taranji Alvarado wrote "Differences" she is a phenomenal talent. It was a beautiful experience to work with such great talent.
