How Big Should My Posters Be?
How Big Should My Posters Be?
One of the most important questions in poster printing relates to the size of color posters. How big does your posters have to be really for it to be effective? Well, the answer to this dilemma in poster printing, is not as simple as you may think. With simple logic, most people will say that the bigger your posters are the better it is. However, in proper poster printing, this is actually not the case. To be an effective poster, the size of it should be determined by the purpose as well as the circumstances that require the color posters to be printed in the first place.
In this article, I will give you a few tips on how to determine the size of your poster printing depending on the situation alone.
When you need to establish a presence – When the purpose of your poster is to establish an impressive presence upon an area, the general rule is basically to print your color posters as large as you can. People respond to size when it comes to judging someone's presence and large posters do indeed make their message and their presence known once it is displayed.
So for things like new product launchings, new movie launchings and posters for high traffic areas, it is best to print large full color posters to get the most exposure and presence in the deal. The only draw back here is that you cannot place those large posters into all the areas that you want because of their size.
When you need wide exposure – If you need to reach a wider area however to cover with posters, then large posters are definitely out. For a wide ranging exposure campaign that covers entire communities, villages and cities, the proper poster size is basically the smallest standard size. The rationale here is that you can print more smaller posters than large posters. The more pieces of small posters you have, the more locations you can cover with your posters. So you can easily gain a wide area of exposure for your posters with this technique. You can even post your color posters in places where it is hard to place large ones. So a lot of ground can really be covered if you use small posters for this purpose.
When your budget is limited – Finally, one big determinant of the size of your posters is your budget. The smaller the budget, the more limited your options are in poster printing. In these circumstances, the smaller your poster design is, the better it should be. To really save on cost, you can even print posters at the standard 8.5 inch by 11 inch letter sized paper so that it can easily be produced and distributed, much like a flyer. This should make your printing costs a little bit lower while still being able to cover a wide area of people through the small posters.
So that should be what you should remember about the proper size of color posters. Depending on the purpose of your posters and of course your resources, you should know now what size posters you will need.
